Nature's Comeback Bison Ranch would like to invite you to taste the "Old West". We offer bison meat from animals who are pasture raised. None are subjected to questionable growth hormones or chemicals. Our animals are not fed grain in order to keep the fat content at its lowest. The bison have lived for thousands of years without the addition of grain to its diet. Why start now?
Less fat in their diet means less fat in yours! Bison contain very little fat. Optimum butcher weight of 1000-1200 lbs. is achieved t 30-36 months of age as compared to 18 months for cattle. Shrinkage during cooking is minimal. The demand for healthy, lean meat continues to grow and bison is ideally suited to satisfy part of that demand. The National Bison Association estimates 15,000 Bison going to slaughter annually as compared to ~250,000 cattle. Bison meat is not expected to replace beef, but to be an alternative red meat source for the enlightened consumer. |
